The National Institute of Architecture, Sicily Section, has awarded Professor Fausto Provenzano the Lifetime Achievement Award. The prestigious recognition was presented during a ceremony held in Giarre at Radice Pura.

The award was presented by In/Arch Sicilia President Maria Grazia Leonardi with the following citation: Retired Professor of Architectural and Urban Composition at the Faculty of Building Engineering and Architecture in Palermo, he graduated from the IUAV University of Venice in 1971. That same year, upon returning to Palermo, he opened his own architectural practice. He is the author of numerous publications on architectural and urban design, focusing primarily on architectural restoration. His professional practice focuses primarily on architectural design and restoration, but throughout his career he has always favored a multidisciplinary approach, developing significant experience in urban and infrastructure design (public transportation and airports), planning, and environmental assessment. He has served as a consultant to the regional government on landscape and urban planning and has overseen urban plans and environmental assessments for major infrastructure projects.

His main activity is architectural design; his projects have been published in specialized national and international magazines. Among these are Bruno Zevi's l'Architettura Cronache e Storia: Casa a Piana dei Colli (1978) and Casa all'Olivella in Palermo (1986).

MOTIVATION: Throughout his long career, he has experimented with and validated his highly personal intuitions and design syntax in a variety of projects, addressing various scales. An exponent of Zevi's organic thinking, particularly evident in works published in Architettura Cronache e Storia, such as Casa a Piana dei Colli (1978) and Casa all'Olivella in Palermo (1986), his research is imbued with valuable formal and spatial insights. A consistently cultivated career rich in experimentation and research, conducted with full awareness of the architect's cultural role as a constructor of contemporary social spaces.
